My name (Rafael)

Rafael

My name is Rafael, but Rafy is just my nickname and what everyone calls me. I find it really funny when substitute teachers mispronounce my name during attendance, and it's really common for them to pronounce it ''Raf-ee-al'', which is wrong. Anyway, Rafael is my father's name. And his father's. And HIS father's! I'm the fourth. Obviously, I'm not going to post my last name on a website where anyone can see what I write. A nice little fun fact would be that my mother was originally planning on naming me ''Alexander'', which is her father's middle name. I guess my dad won the debate on what my name should be. Anyway, I think Rafael is a unique name and I like it.

Gratitude List

Gratitude List
There are plenty of things I am really grateful for. Privileges that, for some, I may not even deserve to have. Here are a few of the things I am grateful for:

1: Family. They are always there for me and really nice people. Although we get into fights at times, we still love each other.

2: Friends. Most of my friends have been with me for years, and they cheer me up whenever i'm sad.

3: My iPad. Its one of my favorite things to use to entertain myself with games. I also use it to communicate with friends.

4: My computer. Like the iPad, but it's more used for games and creativity.

5: My house. Its old, but not obsolete. It's been my home sweet home for years.

6: My school. It is like a 2nd home for me. Even though, most of the time I don't even want to be there, it provides good care and I like to hang out with my friends there.

7: My dog. Tina definitely cheers me up every single time i'm feeling down, no exceptions. She also guards the house, watches through the living room window and barks whenever someone comes close to our house.

8: My health. I'm lucky to be so healthy and there are millions of sick kids out there who would be dying to be in my shoes.

9: My books. I am proud to call myself a good reader and books clear me of my emotions. I have shelves full of books in my room.

10: My movies. I am a huge movie geek. I dig action, comedy, and horror movies. I really like movies which were made with a ton of imagination, because I have a lot of that, too.

Food, Glorious Food

Food, Glorious Food
It was Thanksgiving of 2015, and that year's Thanksgiving dinner was much worse than any other ones. See, we all usually try something new during each year. I am a very picky eater, so I am not very fond of that rule anymore. Anyway, my 2 older brothers and I were completely scarfing down our food, but my grandpa was already done with his plate by that time! My grandma and my mom were in the kitchen making more food. My dog, Tina, was sitting on the floor next to my brother's chair giving him the puppy eyes and begging for some of the turkey. Then my mom came into the room with more food, but when I noticed what was in one of the bowls, I already knew this was not going to be good. My weakness. My least favorite food of all time, and I just don't understand how so many people enjoy this. Brussel sprouts. I was the only one who hated them, though. Before I could tell my mom that I didn't want any, two brussel sprouts were already on my plate. I looked next to me, and my brothers already were wolfing their way through them. I did not want to look like a wimp in front of my family, so I tried it, and thats when it hit me. The taste was so bad that I started gagging seconds after I started biting it. Then, I had to swallow it just to get it over with, but I was still gagging and then I said ''I have to go use the bathroom.'' Lets just say what happened in there wasn't very pleasant. Ever since then, my family teases me with brussel sprouts and whenever they're eating the brussel sprouts, they always say ''Look, Rafy, its your favorite food!''

Where I see myself in 10 years

Where I See Myself In 10 Years
I see myself as a successful man In 10 years. Graduated from college with a decent (or maybe really good) job. Obviously, I won't be having kids at an age of 23, that will be a lot of responsibility. I don't really know what I want to be when I grow up, but my highest hope so far is to become a teacher when I grow up. Maybe, some people don't see that happening, but nothing is impossible.

Childhood favorite

Childhood Favorite
I used to always watch Spongebob when I was 3-7 years old. It was great, and it was really funny to me. I hear that even people my age still watch it. Back at preschool, I had heard some kids talking about it, so when I was browsing on TV looking for something to watch, and I found it, I watched it, and thats how it all started. I became obsessed with it. I had a spongebob shirt and toys shortly after. The show also kind of had a deeper meaning. Spongebob showed that optimism is a good thing, and thinking about the bright side and being happy all the time really works!

Special Quote

''Don't give up just because of what someone said. Use that as motivation to push harder.''

This quote is special to me because I get discouraged a lot and I almost always succeed by not giving up.
